🔒 Your photo is processed entirely on your device and never uploaded to any server. Scores are geometric measurements, not a judgement of your worth.
Most "free" PSL tests aren't: some hand you 10 credits that run out after one scan, some hide the score behind a subscription, some upload your photo to a server and keep it for 30 minutes. FaceRuler takes a different position:
A landmark model marks 478 points on your photo (on your device), then geometric formulas score 8 metrics across 5 dimensions:
| Dimension | Weight |
|---|---|
| Symmetry | 20% |
| Proportions | 25% |
| Structure | 25% |
| Eyes | 15% |
| Harmony | 15% |
The weighted overall maps onto the PSL scale through a fixed curve anchored at a median of 4.0 — the same calibration the community uses. No inflation: the same photo always produces the same score. Full methodology: PSL scale guide.
| Score | Tier | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 6.5 – 8 | Chad / Stacy | Top 0.1% |
| 6 – 6.5 | Chadlite / Stacylite | Top 1% |
| 5 – 6 | HTN / HTB | Clearly above average |
| 3.5 – 5 | MTN | The median zone — most people |
| 2 – 3.5 | LTN | Below average |
| 0 – 2 | Very Low | Severe disharmony |
Remember: the median is 4.0, not 5. A 4.4 is a normal human reading on a strict scale, not an insult.
Avoid "frauding": up-angles, hair curtains and dramatic lighting can swing a reading by half a point or more. Measure honestly — the number only helps you if it's real.
Is it really free? Yes — the score, percentile, tier and radar breakdown. No account, no credits.
Do you store my photo? No. Processing happens entirely in your browser; the photo never touches a server.
Is a PSL rating the same as a 1–10 rating? No — PSL is stricter. PSL 4 ≈ casual 6, PSL 5 ≈ casual 7. Your report shows both.
How accurate is it? Accurate for what it measures: geometry from one front photo. It cannot see skin, hair or how you move — see the limits section of the guide.
Can I retake it? As many times as you like. Retake under the same conditions in 30 days and track what moved — that's what the scale is for.
